Stitches of Light and More

Crochet, plastic canvas, wreaths and more

Made it Monday- Paw print Christmas ornaments

The past week I have been laid up with a hurt foot from running, so to help pass the time I have been doing lots of stitching. Yesterday I whipped up this cute little ornament for the Christmas tree.

They are perfect to use as gift tags as well.

They are now available in my Etsy shop and you can choose from 8 colors for the border color.

Baby gifts

I’ve kind of been taking a break from crafting for various reasons the last several months, but I have maintained some items in my Etsy shop.  One of those items sold this morning and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

This is a baby gift set consisting of a stroller- sized blanket, and newborn hat and scratch mittens. I think the set is simply beautiful. This is the set for a little girl which sold today.  I made this set starting with the blanket. I loved the pattern so much, I made up my own hat pattern to go with it and then stumbled across the adorable mitten pattern one day, knowing that it was the perfect way to complete the set.

I still have a set for a baby boy, as well as a yellow/green set that works for a boy or girl, some gift sets that are just a hat/scratch mitten set, and some adorable baby flower headbands. I have some adorable loom knit baby socks that I need to get listed on Etsy.  Custom diaper wreaths and some baby yarn wreaths are also available.  If you need a gift for a special baby, be sure to stop by Stitches of Light– custom orders are always welcome!

Sticky Note Holders

I’ve been working really hard on my Etsy shop the last month or so in an effort to increase sales.  I’ve had some slow growth the last couple of years, but not as much as I would like!  So I’ve been busy creating and adding new types of products to my shop. In the last couple of months, I’ve created several wall hangings, some garden spinners, and now over the weekend I’ve made some sticky note holders.

They are really fun to make and the ideas are endless. I plan to make some for other style notebooks as well.

They are so cute on desks, to carry in a purse or bag, for school, a stocking stuffer, or a gift.

If you would like one for yourself or to give as a gift, click here view them in my Etsy shop.   These are available in custom colors and I would be happy to take theme requests. I will be adding more, so keep checking back!

Made it Monday- Dolphin Wall Hanging

I’ve been hard at work designing and stitching the last couple of weeks. I hadn’t been very inspired for quite awhile, but the warm weather seems to have my ideas flowing and now I have more ideas than time.

One of my most recent works is an adorable dolphin wall hanging in plastic canvas.

The finished product is now available in my Etsy shop here. I am hoping to release the pattern in the near future.

I would love to see your most recent creations today- leave me a comment with what you have made!

Another new plastic canvas pattern!

I’m so excited to be offering ten of my patterns now!  My newest one is perfect for the spring and summer time!

Tulip coasters!  They make me happy just looking at them 🙂

This tulip pattern, along with my others are available in my etsy shop. You can also browse them on my website here and click to buy on etsy.

More to come soon- I’ve drawn several up, including a dolphin and a sand castle,  but haven’t stitched them yet 🙂

Wind spinners

It is finally feeling like it’s almost summer where I live!  One of my favorite things about summer is all the cute garden decor. This year I discovered how to make wind spinners. I have it hanging in my front yard and I love sitting by the window and watching it twirl.

Isn’t it adorable?!

They are also popular to hang outside your camper or even inside from a curtain rod or hook.

If you are interested in one of your very own, they are now available in my Etsy Shop.  I would be happy to make one for you in the colors of you choice as well- team colors, school colors, and to match decor are popular choices.

More monogram coasters- current project

Before Christmas, I received a custom order for a set of monogram coasters (I blogged about the design awhile back). Here is how the custom order turned out:

I love the colors she chose!

Just after the holidays, I was asked to make 2 more sets because they are so well loved!  So I am currently working on those. I finished the coasters yesterday and just need to do the boxes now.

What is your current project?

Painted Rocks

As you may know, almost everything I create involves yarn, except my diaper wreaths. But a few months ago, I began creating some painted rocks- and I love them!  Now I am not a talented artist to paint amazing designs, so I had to find a different route. And I’m so excited to have sold my first one on etsy- this cute Boston Terrier rock.

Of course I love dogs, so I’m so excited about this rock finding a home!

I have several others abailable in my Etsy Shop. Here is a sneak peak at a few more of them-

What would you choose to put on a rock ?

Baby Girl Blanket, Hat, Scratch Mittens Gift Set- Finished Friday

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve written last. We were on a month-long vacation out west, which was wonderful, then it was getting home and settle back in, and then laziness I suppose! So it’s time to get back to it! But I have definitely been busy crafting the entire time! Hopefully over the next few weeks I’ll get to show you most of what I’ve been up to.

For today, I’m sharing this adorable baby girl gift set that I just finished yesterday- complete with a stroller blanket, hat and scratch mittens!

The blanket pattern can be found at http://www.examiner.com/article/waves-of-color-easy-baby-blanket-to-crochet

The mitten pattern can be found at http://patternsforcrochet.co.uk/baby-mitts-usa.html

The hat pattern is my own that I made to coordinate with the blanket! I’m so excited to be finally creating some of my own patterns. I’m trying to decide if I want to write up the pattern to put on Etsy or not.

The gift set can be found in my Etsy Shop, as well as just the hat/mittens as a set, or even the hat by itself! Here is a direct link to the listing: baby girl set. I also have some done in a yellow/white and green theme which is great for a boy or girl! Go check them out!

Jesus Bookmark Plastic Canvas Pattern- Finished Friday

Tuesday I posted my first crochet pattern- a free flower coaster pattern.  I feel more creative with plastic canvas though, and have written many patterns for that, but only for myself.  However, this pattern is one that I have actually posted for sale on Etsy.  I’m not sure how many of my readers do plastic canvas, but if you haven’t you might like to give it a try!  It’s not an expensive hobby, and it’s really not difficult to learn.  For those that do plastic canvas, here is a picture of my bookmark:

Like the military that I wrote about last Friday, my faith is also very important to me.  However, I will be working on many more patterns of all different sorts, so please keep checking back.  The rainbow coaster that I posted on Wednesday as part of my work in progress now has the pattern available in my Etsy store.  Here it is again, if you missed it Wednesday:

If you or someone you know would like to purchase either of these patterns, they are available for sale in my Etsy shop, along with many other already-made items, such as yarn wreaths, diaper wreaths, tissue covers and more.
