Baby Girl Blanket, Hat, Scratch Mittens Gift Set- Finished Friday

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve written last. We were on a month-long vacation out west, which was wonderful, then it was getting home and settle back in, and then laziness I suppose! So it’s time to get back to it! But I have definitely been busy crafting the entire time! Hopefully over the next few weeks I’ll get to show you most of what I’ve been up to.

For today, I’m sharing this adorable baby girl gift set that I just finished yesterday- complete with a stroller blanket, hat and scratch mittens!

The blanket pattern can be found at http://www.examiner.com/article/waves-of-color-easy-baby-blanket-to-crochet

The mitten pattern can be found at http://patternsforcrochet.co.uk/baby-mitts-usa.html

The hat pattern is my own that I made to coordinate with the blanket! I’m so excited to be finally creating some of my own patterns. I’m trying to decide if I want to write up the pattern to put on Etsy or not.

The gift set can be found in my Etsy Shop, as well as just the hat/mittens as a set, or even the hat by itself! Here is a direct link to the listing: baby girl set. I also have some done in a yellow/white and green theme which is great for a boy or girl! Go check them out!

Navy Military Yarn Wreath- Finished Friday

At the end of January, I posted about my military yarn wreaths that I had started back in December. I finished the Air Force wreath around that time I believe, but somehow the Navy wreath got set aside again. When I picked it back up, I made the flowers, wrapped the wreath and got ready to assemble it. And then I realized I had a problem. The black letters I had painted were too dark to be seen on the navy blue yarn of the wreath. Dilemma! I wanted each of the military wreaths to be wrapped in a different color, but I had also wanted them to all have black letters. The Army wreath was already done in gold, so that meant it had to be wrapped in navy blue. So I ended up changing the letter color to gold. So then repainting took a bunch of time. So I finally have it finished! Here is a picture of the finished wreath:

I am so happy to finally have this done! Now I have wreaths for Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. I hope to do a Coast Guard one eventually, as well as a military veteran one, but I think that will have to wait for now. Here is the collection of what I have. They are all available in my Etsy shop:

Finished Object Friday- Army Checkbook Cover

20131122-102106.jpg

I managed to finish my checkbook cover that I had posted a picture of in my Work in Progress post on Wednesday. I think it turned out pretty cute! It’s my own patter that I came up with. I love the cammo yarn by Red Heart! I plan to do covers with the other military branches soon. Navy will be next as I am getting ready to do a craft fair down near the naval academy in a few weeks.

I am linked up to FO Fridays over at Tami’s Amis and Other Creations. Please click below to visit and find other awesome projects!
