Quick and Easy Loom Knit Baby Socks

Today I was looking for a few quick items to whip up for an upcoming craft show. I came across a pattern for little baby socks that I had never tried. They’re made on the flower loom, can you believe it?!  Aren’t they adorable?!

They work up really quickly and the pattern is so well written and easy.  The free pattern can be found at http://guppylovesshark.wordpress.com/2011/03/02/flower-loom-footsies/ if you would like to try them.

What is your favorite, quick item to loom knit?

Reindeer Candle Topper- Work in Progress Wednesday

With Thanksgiving all but upon us, I’ve been spending some time working on Christmas items, mostly yarn wreaths.  However, last week one of my dearest friends texted me a picture of a candle topper and wondered if I could stitch it.  So I am slowly making progress on it.  It will be a reindeer candle topper.

I’m not sold on the antler yet.  I feel like by the time I get the other one on and the other ear, it will be too crowded.  So I think I will tweek that.  I do like the ear though 🙂  Then I just need to add some eyes and a nose and finish my ends.  If it turns out cute, I might make a couple more to put out at my upcoming craft fair.  I am also thinking of some other ones to do besides a reindeer.  Suggestions anyone?

I am excited to be linking up with Work in Progress Wednesday over at Tami’s Amis and Other Creations

My first knitted projects

20131005-221448.jpg

Well here they are! My first knitted projects completed on the Knifty Knitter small round loom. Instead of trying the hat pattern that came with the loom, I decided to try these cute dish scrubbies. I found the pattern here: http://www.rostitchery.com/2005/11/knifty_kitchen_.html
I used acrylic yarn as that is what I had with me on our weekend trip. The purple scrubbie on the left I tried using three strands of yarn. I love the sturdiness of it. The turquoise one I did two strands and like how it feels in my hand. So I’m not sure which way I like better. I will probably make some of each. I’m excited that they turned out and I am looking forward to finding another project for my round looms.

Knifty Knitters!

20131003-140353.jpg

After my struggle to learn to crochet, I really have not felt compelled to try to learn to knit. Until now! While ordering some stuff for one of my children online, I a came across a set of these round knifty knitters round looms in clearance. And they have arrived. And I am excited! So in a little bit I am going to try them out and see what happens. Have you tried these before? Do you love them? What are your favorite patterns?
