Baby Boy Christian Diaper Wreath- Finished Friday

Well, here it is, another Friday! And to start a long weekend too! That means more crafting time, right?!

I’ve been blessed with several orders on Etsy for my diaper wreaths in the couple of months. All of a sudden I found myself running low on them. So I’ve managed to complete one to add to my inventory. This one is a Christian theme for a baby boy. I absolutely love it!

This is available in my Etsy shop, I also love doing custom orders so please feel free to contact me for something just right for you!

Red, White and Blue Floral Wreath- Finished Friday

I have two plastic canvas projects which just need edging complete and the striped shell bag most of the way finished but I needed a break from them. For months I’ve been having trouble with my elbow (I think I have golfer’s elbow) and sometime it bothers me. So it’s been a bit inflamed again even though not terribly sore (typing on my phone doesn’t help lol). As a result I haven’t crocheted as much this week. I thought in would have the bag done for sure to show you today!

Instead, I have a new floral yarn wreath. Since we have several patriotic holidays coming up soon, I thought this would be a great time to whip one up. These are always some of my favorite wreaths to make. Here it is!

I did just list this item in Etsy, so be sure to check it out, as well as my other Patriotic items!

Quick Yarn Flower Hair Clips

If you haven’t noticed yet, I love yarn! Most of my crafting involves the use of yarn. When I started loom knitting back in the fall, I went on a purchasing spree and bought several different types of looms. I have different sizes of round and long looms. I also have a few other ones, such as a spool loom and a flower loom. Which brings me to my Made By You Monday project. Flower hair clips! I absolutely love how quickly they work up and how simple they are. Here are a few different sets I’ve completed:

Aren’t they cute?! And I love the possibilities with color combinations or trying different types of yarn (which I haven’t done yet).

Here is the loom that I used to make them:

I can’t remember the brand or exactly where I got it, but believe it was with Michaels or JoAnn’s.

These flowers are great for more than just hair clips. If you think you’ve seen them before on my blog, you’re right! I also love using them on my wreaths! Here are just a few:

PS.. If you see an item you love, they are all available in my Etsy shop

Wreaths, coasters and eggs- Work in Progress Wednesday. And linky party?

So what do wreaths, coasters and eggs all have in common? Yarn! And they are all works in progress this week. The eggs are technically finished being stitched, but I haven’t listed them on etsy. Well one set is, but not these. Listing things is a bit of a chore to me. Chore=work. A work in progress lol.

So here they are:

As I said the eggs are all stitched.

These wreaths are waiting for glue and painted letters.

These coasters are a new pattern I just created in the last couple of days. One needs to have the edging finished, and they need a box made. I also plan to write a pattern to sell on etsy.

Then I still have to finish the lid of the Air Force coaster set. I also need to do some price labels for wreaths for this weekend’s craft show. I think I’ll be busy the rest of the week!

What are you working on this week? I would love for you to post your links. And speaking of posting links, I’ve been kicking around the thought of hosting a Thursday linky party. I have no idea what theme or anything yet. What would you like to see? Would you be willing to participate, of do you feel there are enough parties out there?

Veterans Military Yarn Wreath- Finished Friday

In the past week I’ve been working on several yarn wreaths again. Two are almost completed, but this one is all finished!

My husband serves in the military, so I like to make a lot of military and USA related items. While he is still active duty, I wanted to make this to honor all our brave veterans out there.

If you or someone you know would like to purchase a wreath like this and honor the veteran in your life, it is available for sale in my Etsy shop: Veterans Military Cammo Wreath on Etsy

Spring Wreath Completed- Finished Friday

I’m so excited I managed to complete the spring wreath I posted about on Wednesday.  I’ve been ticking off projects left and right this past week!  It feels so good not to have all these unfinished projects lying around.  I think I only have 1 other one started now.  Oh, make that 2.

Anyway, I did manage to find some hot pink yarn, but it wasn’t quite what I had in mind.  However, it was the closest I could find in the type of yarn needed to match the rest of the wreath.  I think it still looks good though.  The picture doesn’t quite do it justice.  So here is the finished wreath!

spring green wreath

I absolutely adore these flowers- I’ve been using them everywhere!  And they are so simple to make!  If you are interested in purchasing this wreath, it is available in my Etsy shop  I am also happy to make custom orders- either email me at or visit my Etsy store at and send me a convo there.

Are you working on anything special for spring?  I would love to see your projects!  Please drop me a link!

Military Yarn Wreaths- Work in Progress Wednesday

I have a bad habit of starting projects and then setting them aside for various reasons. Sometimes I feel like they are taking too long so I need a break. Other times, a new and exciting idea comes along that I just can’t wait to get started on. Still other times, I simply set it down and something gets put on top of it… You know, out of sight, out of mind? Well that’s what happened with today’s work-in-progress. I started this project back around Christmas time, and took it to PA when we went for a few days around New Year’s. Came home with it, bought my letters, painted them, then moved the painted letters off the table for dinner. Into a bag with the flowers they went, which in time ended up in a tote box along with the already yarn-wrapped wreaths forms.

Then I forgot about them. I finally came across a picture on my phone of them as a work in progress and realized they were never finished. So I dug them out this morning and they will be completed today. They only need to be glued together. So pictured here, are 2 yarn wreaths- one for Army, the other for Air Force.

I plan to do the other branches soon if I have positive feedback on these two. I will be listing them on Etsy, so I will try to update this post with the link soon, as well as update my store page here on the blog.

UPDATE: I did indeed finish them and they are now available in my Etsy shop Stitches of Light

I am excited to be linking up with Work in Progress Wednesday over at Tami’s Amis and Other Creations

Snowflake Wreath- Made by You Monday

I live in the eastern part of Maryland. We’ve had a serious snow drought the last few years. I am not a cold weather person at all. In fact, I moved south in part to avoid the cold. But I ended up meeting my husband and thanks to the military, have ended up a bit more north again LoL. So this week it is COLD! At least by my standards. I also enjoy watching the weather in the winter for big (snow) storms to move across the country. I do enjoy watching the weather models and seeing what happens. I even hope for the snow despite not liking the cold. Snow makes it better. But if it is cold like this, it should snow. Then I’m happy! So with the storm moving across the country now, I was hoping we might get our snow that has alluded us of late. We were here in Maryland several years ago when those epic storms came through back-to-back. My littlest one doesn’t remember it though- he was only 2. So I was hoping for him too. He gets thrilled over a dusting. But, it looks like we will be getting just rain 😦

So to go along with our freezing cold weather we have right now (which leaves in time for preciptation to arrive), I decided to make this cute snowflake yarn wreath. This was inspired by a pin I saw on Pinterest the other year. I thought it would be cute to put out at an upcoming craft fair.

So who has snow and wants to send some snow my way?! 🙂

Work In Progress Wednesday

I’m hoping to find some great sites to link up to and start doing Work I Progress Wednesdays to give me something else to blog about LoL. So here is my work in progress…. But it’s really workS in progress…. I have crafting ADHD I think!

Not too bad, right? And a couple of them are almost done. Yea!

Here is a winter yarn wreath just waiting for it’s glue. Then that one will be finished.

This one is a loom knitting hat. Just in the beginning stages. I started this a few weeks ago and it’s been put aside as I’ve had ideas for other things that I couldn’t wait to get started on LoL.

One of the ideas. Plastic canvas coaster for different military branches. I have Navy, Army, and Air Force done. Well one coaster for each of those. I need to finish the rest of those sets. I also want to do Marines and Coast Guard, but I’m having trouble coming up with a workable pattern.

Finally, another recent idea. This one is actually pretty close to being completed also. Cammo colored checkbook covers with the military branch name on it. This is the first one. It’s an Army one. Hubby’s in the Army, so of course I had to start with that one 🙂

So hopefully I will get at least one of these done at some point today and blog about it on Friday. What are you working on? I would love to see it!

Happy November!

Wow, I can hardly believe it is now November! October was pretty awesome! In the beginning of October I began learning to loom knit. I ordered my first business cards. October also brought me my first etsy sales (including my first custom order), so that was exciting. I’m hoping that the ball is rolling now and that they continue. Here are photos of the custom diaper wreaths I will be shipping out later today.

November will bring my first craft fair. Tomorrow in fact! I a bit nervous and feel like there is soooo much to do before then. I have projects I wish I could have finished (and started), but there just aren’t enough hours in the day for life AND all my ideas lol. But I’m very excited too. I really want to do well.

How was your October? Is there anything coming up for you this month?
