Working Yarn Holders- Tuesday Tips

on April 22, 2014

If you are a knitter, loomer, or crocheter, you know that it’s helpful to have something to hold your working yarn when you are working on your project.  Something to keep your yarn from rolling all over the place and collecting dog hair, etc.  There are items out there in the craft stores specially designed for this sort of thing, and I’ve seen some wonderfully creative ideas out there for holding the yarn too.  I had found a neat one that travels well- the yarn drum:

I simply LOVE this tote.  It is big enough to hold several skeins of yarn, a zipper around to easily organize or add/remove yarn, and a zippered pouch perfect for holding needles, hooks and scissors.  It even has holes on top to pull yarn through so you don’t have to open it when working on a project.
It also has a removable shoulder strap and a carry handle on top.  I’ve had mine for over a year and it is wearing great!  It is available at most craft stores and in pink as well.

However, if you’re not on the go, a simple bowl large enough to hold your yarn will work just fine!

As long as it has a place to put the yarn in, and a place to pull the yarn out of it (leaving enough room for the yarn to spin), it will do the job 🙂
